Onward and Upward!

I thought I'd better check in before everyone wonders where I went.  July 30th was a total knee replacement fro the left knee.  Yikes, they grind bone - and give you lots of titanium with a plastic pad for cushioning.  At the moment I look like franken knee - I haven't counted the staples but there are a lot of them.  They are thorough and careful at Henry Ford Hospital.  I was hospitalized for two days after the surgery and had wonderful Nurses - Occupational Therapists - and Physical Therapists. And that doesn't even cover the doctor.

This will have to be short - the pain keeps coming and I can't seem to concentrate to easily yet.  I'll get there and I'll start more regular posts as soon as I can.
This is what they put into my knee.

You'll be running circles around the rest of us in no time. My knees are still old and creaky.

Holy Cow Sharon, I mean, Bionic Woman! I know lots of folks with these contraptions and you'll do fine. I hope your pain subsides immediately.

Hugs from California.

Thank You everyone. All is going well and PT has started. I so missed not going to the Gathering Patty - I just knew if I signed up this would be scheduled, and so it went. I think of this knee as the self-flushing toilet my father purchased once....LOL. My mother always said if it was that darn expensive it ought to "do it all" for you once you sit down. So any day now I expect the electrical current to kick in and it to anticipate I need to be across the room and it just gets me up and moves me there. In the meantime I'll just continue on with the PT.

You will be back at it before you know it. Just listen to your body - it will tell you when it has had enough! Hope you continue to heal well.
