I’d like to introduce you to someone I’ve met through the Internet. Her name is Victoria Halldorson and she had purchased several of my heart bead sets. Hearts are one of my very favorite things to make and maybe Vicki has picked up on that. She certainly has done them proud in her work.

Vicki’s home base is in Vancouver, Canada. In some places around the United States visiting Canada is just a normal kind of thing. For us here in Michigan it’s like our “Europe”. We are close to the Canadian border and as I was growing up we did a lot of traveling in or through Canada as we drove to the Eastern United States. Windsor, Toronto, and Niagara Falls, are just some of beautiful places in between our trips to Rochester, New York.

Vancouver is Western Canada, for those who don’t know. But, who couldn’t after this year’s Olympics. I haven’t been fortunate enough to travel in that area or the Western United States for that matter. All I can say is, from what we were able to witness this past year on television broadcasts from the Winter Olympics it looks like a destination visit to dream for.

Thanks Vicki for loving my hearts, making such beautiful necklaces from them; and, for the act of kindness to a stranger. I have a beautiful pair of red Olympic mittens with that unmistakable Canadian Maple leaf in the palm. And this winter I will be the one smiling from ear to ear in the snow and cold with my Columbia Red coat and matching mittens.
